The project "Experience the sights and wine region by bike"


  
On July 1, 2010 began collaboration Southern Region Partnership Foundation, the Centre of Tourism - South Moravia and Austrian partner Weinviertel Tourismus GmbH. the realization of joint project "Experience the sights and wine region by bike."
Project Monitoring Committee of the Programme "European Territorial Co-operation Austria - Czech Republic 2007-2013" recommended for co-financing at its meeting on 1 - 2 june 2010.

The main objective of the project is the cooperation South Moravia and Lower Austria in the field of cycling, which should lead to:

•     creation of joint border tourist products
•     marking optimization of international cycling routes and trails
•     small modern building backing cycling infrastructure
•     monitoring of cyclists and tourists
•     joint marketing and promotion of tourism,
•     increasing economic importance of tourism in the border region and
•     increase traffic at the maximum use of regional specialties.

Project implementation period: 1.7.2010 - 31.5.2013

Benefits for cyclists and hikers:

•     single clear markings cycling across the Southern Region
•     marking a new international routes EuroVelo 13 (Iron Curtain Trail)
•     Information brochure of the Iron Curtain Trail
•     addition to marking the Weinviertel (accommodation, restaurants, businesses certified by the trademark "Cyclists welcome)
•     over 30 new service areas for cyclists and hikers in the Southern Region
•     border map of southern Moravia and Weinviertel
•     brochure wine trails of South Moravia and Weinviertel
•     glossary tourist phrases (in Czech - German - English)
•     7 cycling events for the public
•     expansion and improvement of information for tourists and cyclists on the website partner
